Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda (Golden Rock)
Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda is one of the famous pagoda
and 65 km from the east of Bago and located in Kyaikhto
Township, Mon State. It's about 3600 feet above the sea level.
The name Kyaikhtiyo is derived from Mon word Kyaik-i-thi-yoe. It
means the pagoda carried by a hermit on his head. It is also the
most sacred Buddhist sites and stands on the edge of Paunglaung
Mountain Range, Bago Yoma.

Routing : Yangon – Bago- Kyaikhtiyo –
Yangon
Day 01 : Yangon- Bago- Kyaikhtiyo
Meet and greet at your hotel. Start drive to
the Golden Rock ( Kyaikhtiyo ) by passing Bago ( 1 ½ hours
driving ) , an ancient Mon capital city . On arrival in Bago ,
visit to local colorful morning market . Continue visit to over
a thousand years old , Shwemawdaw Pagoda .Drive to Kinmunshan
base camp ( 3 ½ hours driving ) . Heading to one of Myanmar's
Landmarks : Kyaiktiyo the "Golden Rock " , a huge boulder
completely covered b y gold leaf and delicately balanced on the
edge of a cliff . To reach the Pagoda from Kin Pun base camp,
take a open truck up a bumpy track to Ye the daung Camp (45 mins
drive ) and hiking up to mountain top take about next 45 minutes
.For Old ages , Sedan chair carried by 4 men to up area can be
arranged . Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 : Kyaikhtiyo –Bago- Yangon ( B )

Morning B'fast at hotel. After B'fast ,
return by truck to KinmunsakhanPun Base camp . Drive back to
Yangon ( approx: 5 hrs ) .On the way to Yangon , by passing Bago
and after lunch visit to Shwe Tha Lyaung Pagoda which is among
one of the country's most impressive image and visit Kyaikpun
Pagoda with four 30 meter high Buddha figures seated back to
back . Drive Back to Yangon, on the way visit Htauk Kyant War
Memorial Cemetery, a regal memorial to the 27,000 Allied
soldiers who died in World War II.. Transfer to your hotel .

How To Get There
Yango – Kyaikhtiyo
Yangon is linked with big cities and towns by
air, by car and by train in Myanmar . You can go to Kyaikhto by
train or by the 200 km road by car via Bago. Direct drive to
Kimmunsakan ( Base camp of Kyaikhtiyo ) and By Car is more
easily to get there. OR by train , you will take off the
Kyaikhto Rail Station and then take a car to the kimmunsakan .
The distance from Kyaikhto to the base camp Kimmunsakhan is 12
km.
Kimmusakhan ( Base Camp Of Kyaikhtiyo – Up
Area )
In the old days, the only route to get to the
pagoda was by a 12 km. hike through the jungle. There are about
20 camps along the tract and on the way there are stalls in
which tea, cold drinks and fruits are available. The whole route
is sheltered from the sun by the jungle canopy. For quicker
access and for convenience sake a new road has been cut through
the jungle from the base camp to the foot of the Kyaikhtiyo
ridge. To reach the Pagoda from Kin Pun base camp, take a open
