Life Style In Myanmar

Myanmar stands for different 135 ethnic groups living together in Myanmar. They do have their own dialects and customs.
Majority of people do believe in Buddhism. So, they follow Buddha's teaching and practise Buddhist Culture.
Their ways of life is so simple that they can earn their living.
In fact, Myanmar Custom and tradition based on Buddhist Culture.
Rural people are mostly farmers. They simply earn their livelihood by farming. Since Myanmar is an agro-based country they live in vast amount or area of rural places. According to harvesting period, they celebrate festivals and do the Buddhist rituals. They wear Myanmar costumes and live in wooden or bamboo houses.
Rural people visit some interesting places and famous pagoda when they have free time. Normally they do make pilgrimage trips to famous pagodas in Myanmar. They are frank, simple and honest. They enjoy Myanma Theatrical dances.
Urban people are merchants, company employees and government employees. A few urban people work in factories. They live in semi-modern typical wooden houses. They enjoy entertainment with friends and relatives. They go outings with friends and relatives. They wear fashionable dresses as they live. They spend money on leisure and pleasure apart from their livelihood. They pursue further Education for their future prospects. They are hardworking. When they are on holidays, they visit famous pagodas inside Myanmar. City people live in blocks of flat or apartment. Mostly are educated people.

Myanmar Dress

Myanmar man wears longgyi (Sarong) and shirt. the style of wearing longgyi is different from that of Indian doti. Myanmar man's shirt has got long-sleeved andlow stiff colloar. Over the shirt, he wears Myanmar style jacket or over coat which is similar to normal jacket but no collar. This style is complete Myanmar man's national dress. However, casual dress is made up of longgyi and shirt or T-shirt. These days Myanmar young man or old man wears trousers with T-shirt or sport-shirt as he fancies.
Myanmar woman wears Tha-bi and long sleeved blouse. Tha-bi is just like Maxi-skirt. The style of wearing is different. Under the blouse, she wears bodices or brassier. She also wears long shawl over her shoulders. This style is complete Myanmar woman's national dress. These days Myanmar women wear mini-skirt, trousers, jeans and tight skirt.
Myanmar is a country with different ethnic groups known as Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Bhama, Rakhine and Shan. They do have their own national costumes.

Myanmar Staple Food (Rice)

Myanmar eat rice as their staple food. Myanmar curries are mainly cooked with oil and spices. They eat fish paste everyday. Fresh water fish are their favourite meals. Very few Myanmar like to eat sea food
